Recently, the ladies of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Shippensburg held their annual Pumpkin Patch.
Handmade crafts, homemade baked goods, all kinds of jewelry, Christmas and fall decor, household items, hot dogs, sodas and vegetable beef soup were some of the items offered.
All proceeds from this event benefit the residents of The Episcopal Home which is adjacent to the church. Over the years, this event has been particularly enjoyable to the residents of the home. Resident Lorena Bowers says she always looks forward to the event because she enjoys searching through the jewelry table. Once again, she bought several pieces.
The ladies also have a quilting club and they create a beautiful quilt each year and sell raffle tickets. Tickets are sold throughout the year at a cost of $1 each and the winning ticket is drawn the first week of December. The proceeds of this fundraiser also goes to the residents of the home. Call 717-532-4612 for tickets.
A bus trip to Longwood Gardens Christmas Display is planned for Tuesday, November 23. The cost is $95 per person and is open to the public. For more information call Juanita Mills at 717-816-8665.
