Carlisle

St. John's - Activities on Sept. 11 include a special Parish Forum at 9:15 a.m. led by Mo. Robyn Szoke. The Parish Choir will sing the moving contemporary anthem, “Mansions of the Lord”, popularized by the West Point Choir, at the 10:15 Eucharist and at the Offertory of the 8:00 Eucharist as well. Bill Solomon of the Cumberland County Honor Guard will play Taps. At the time of the Prayers of the People, a slide presentation with the photos of many of our congregation who have served during these ten years: those deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq, those in the fire and police departments, EMT personnel, volunteers at Ground Zero and the Pentagon will be featured. Fr. Mark Scheneman will preach on the "Spiritual Lessons of September 11."

Hershey

All Saints' - A 9/11 service will take place Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. at Lebanon Valley College.  Click here for more details.

Lancaster

St. Edward's - The 10th Anniversary of 9/11 will be marked at all three services on Sunday: the 8am, 9:15 contemporary services, and the 10:30 service. Parishioners will be invited to light a candle in remembrance, write a prayer, thought, or name on a "sticky" note, that will be placed on the altar rail, and the sacrament of laying on of hands and anointing will be offered at each service for those who wish it.

Mansfield

St. James - St. James, Mansfield will host an Interfaith Healing Service on the 10th Anniversary of September 11, this Sunday, at 5pm.  The majority of the service will be music performed by artists and the Men's Ensemble from the Mansfield University Music Dept. Healing stations for anointing will be provided during and following the service as well.  The service will conclude with an optional time of meditation during which the church bell will toll for each person who died during the attacks. In lieu of this, those attending are invited to stroll over to the parish hall for light refreshments and to reflect, informally, on their own experiences with others.

Milton

Christ - Sept. 11, 10:45 a.m., service of remembrance.

Muncy

St. James - Sept. 11, 9:20 a.m.: The service will begin with ringing the church bell to commemorate the lives lost that day. Following, will be played a recording of "Elegy for 9/11," a piece composed by our organist, Dr. Jackson Hill. This piece is premiering the same day for the first time in the states in Philadelphia. This past summer the piece premiered at the Three Choirs' Festival in England. The piece is based on text from the Book of Lamentations and is very moving.
